Oct. 24th...Our Season is starting!

Posted by tcollier4480 at 06:00 AM on October 24, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Summer is over and we are ready to begin a new season at the Farmer's Market Oceanside.  We have vendors that have been with us all summer, vendors now returning from last season and some interesting new vendors.  I hope you all come out and join us every Saturday from 8 to 12.

One of our newest Vendors, Linda Hart from Crazy Hart Ranch has Fresh local Turkeys and Chickens just in time for Thanksgiving.  Please come by and get your order in now.  She will have birds ready by November 2nd!

Check back soon as I will be updating the vendor list with our newest vendors as they arrive at the market.

Feb. 7 2009...Our Market is Full and Thriving!

Another beautiful busy day at the market!  We are so blessed to live in Florida and have so many nice days!

We now have all our available spaces rented!  Yeah!  Hopefully in the near future we will have a few more spaces to fill.  We are asking the City to remove those dangerous car bumpers from the parking lot.  They don't seem to be needed there anyway.  If they agree to do that, then we can use the row farthest to the South for new vendors.  We should be able to get 5 or 6 spaces in that area.  For those vendors that like to park there, your time might be limited.  I know that it can be difficult during set up and break down to get your vehicles in and out.  But thankfully everyone seems to work together and help each other, so I think it will work out fine.

I have had many questions from the vendors as to how long we intend to run the market.  Right now we are going thru the end of May.  We will be taking a poll from all of the vendors to see who would be interested in going through the summer and how often they would want to come.  Then I can approach the market committee to see what we are willing to do.

I also wanted to make all the vendors aware that in March, there will be a St. Patricks Day Parade that will close down Ocean Drive and Cardinal drive from 8:30 am to about 11 am.  We are currently working on a plan to help our shoppers find places to park and be able to walk to the market.  We will be very busy after the parade that day I am sure.  But during the parade I don't know what to expect.  I will keep you updated on the plans.  We may want to pass flyers out to our shoppers to direct them as to where to park that day. They should just come by 8:30 and park and spend the morning with us.

As always I am more than willing to listen to any suggestions you all may have for improvement to the market.  Please feel free to email me or call me anytime.

Sincerely,

Tyna

The Market was well attended on the 10th & 17th of January

We have had two wonderful Saturdays since I last wrote.   Lots of Sunshine, little wind and a big crowd to help us enjoy it!  Our grand opening day on the 10th was a lot of fun.  Thank you to all the local entertainers that joined in our fun!  We had cheerleaders, a talented group of ballet dancers and a very good local musician.  We also had a record crowd from early in the morning at 8am right up to closing at noon and beyond.  I believe a few vendors sold out of their delightful products early due to the overwhelming attendance.

This week on the 17th was just as well attended and was a little chilly to start off with but warmed up nicely as the day went on.  Mr. Potter entertained us with his skill on his guitar and banjo all day long even though his fingers were pretty cold early in the morning.  I even think he sold a few cd's as well.  We had about 30 vendors and everyone I talked to said they had a really good day.  Vero Beach and it's visitors seem to be very happy the market is here and have continued to tell us how thankful they are to have such a nice variety of goods to choose from.

I enjoyed sitting back and watching all the happy faces go by with their bags full of goodies or their Klapp boxes piled high.  Plus all the wagging tails and long tongues that are happy to have a free treat from scooters.

Looking forward to next week.  We have about 4 more new vendors joining us.  We don't have too many spots left, it you know someone that is interested let them know they should put an application in soon.

Have a great week and a nice day off for those of us who don' t have to go to work on Monday!  Thank you to all the Farmers' Market Committee Members that make this event run so smoothly and to the Oceanside Business Association for all they did and all they do to bring us the Farmers' Market Oceanside!

January 3rd Market update

Posted by tcollier4480 at 06:34 PM on January 03, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Today was a beautiful day at the market.  We had some new vendors join us today.  Tall Pines Apiary, JC Daily Bread (yum, his butterscotch bread is delicious), Herbeque BBQ, Capt. Jerrys Seafood and Pure Produce Organics.  We have a few more joining us for the 10th.  We are also having live entertainment through out the day.

Today we had a Karate proformance that was incredible!  I don't know how they do that and not get hurt.  I thought the girls especially were impressive, flipping the boys around like that.

I think a good time was had by all and over all it was a good day for most of the vendors.  I think attendance was down a little from the las market.  Not sure if people are not back from the holidays yet or what.

Please help spread the news.  I love to see our vendors do well and everyone that attends, that I have talked to,  really has a good time.

Have a great week!

Grand Opening vender information & reminder

Posted by tcollier4480 at 10:16 PM on December 31, 2008 Comments comments (1)

Hi Everyone;

I just wanted to remind all vendors that our Grand Opening is on the 10th.  We are going to have several entertainment acts, live music, etc.  We are advertising on yourhub.com, press journal  events section,  The Oceanside Business Association advertisement in the Press Journal, I believe 32963 will be putting in an article and we are putting the word out on as many websites as we can.   So we are expecting a larger crowd than we have had so far.  Please bring lots product.  I think it will be a good day for all.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate as well.

If you have any suggestions for our grand opening event, please let me know right away so we have time to look into it.  We value your suggestions.  As Vendors you get to talk to lots of people and I am sure you hear suggestions and comments from them.  Please feel free to pass those along.  We are trying hard to please everyone and make this market a huge success every week!
